The MicMan
The MicMan position is one of the most unique positions in the Georgia Tech spirit program. The MicMan had a strong history up through the early 1980s, but fell out of practice till mid-2017. With this position back in the spirit program, it provides an added layer to the gameday atmosphere.
The responsibilities of the MicMan include, but are not limited to, leading the cheerleaders in cheers on Yellow Jacket Alley as well as talking with alumni at tailgates around the Georgia Tech campus. In Callaway Plaza, the MicMan leads the crowd in cheers, right before the Ramblin’ Reck makes the turn to enter Bobby Dodd Stadium. In the stadium the MicMan has a platform in front of the Georgia Tech Swarm Student section and speakers placed throughout. With Microphone in hand, it is the MicMan’s job to keep the energy high and lead the student section in cheers. The MicMan is required to attend workouts with the strength and conditioning coach, as well as work with the cheer squad to memorize cheers and game day responsibilities.
Being MicMan allows creative freedom in developing your character. Growing the tradition of MicMan at Georgia Tech rests in the hands of the students.

Meet our MicMan Noah Bryant
Major: Business Administration concentrating in Operations and Supply Chain From: Roswell, Georgia “The MicMan position is more than just a guy with a mic. It embodies the traditions and spirit that every student at Georgia Tech holds as core tenants. The MicMan takes the energy of the student section and throws it right back, ensuring the home field advantage is secure for the Yellow Jackets”
