Gold & White Cheerleading Squad

Cheerleading at Georgia Tech is a challenging and rewarding sport.  Each individual works hard to learn new and difficult skills while the coaches actively promote safety. 

While the squad enjoys competing at NCA Nationals in Daytona, Florida, its first priority is promoting Georgia Tech Intercollegiate Athletics and representing the University as a whole.  Generating spirit and crowd involvement at Georgia Tech is the common goal for the squad.  In addition to cheering for football and men’s and women’s basketball games, the squad performs at various appearances, host clinics, participate in numerous community service projects, and competes in the NCA College Cheer Championships each year. 

Georgia Tech cheerleading is a major time commitment.  The cheerleaders spend 8-10 hours per week practicing.  Practice sessions focus on co-ed and quad stunts, pyramids, basket tosses, motion technique, and tumbling in preparation for games, events and competition.  In addition to practice time, Georgia Tech cheerleaders spend 4 hours per week at workouts with the strength and conditioning coach. The cheer squads are present at both home and away football games, home men’s and women’s basketball games, as well as ACC Tournaments and select home volleyball matches.
